Liability insurance, listing the Capital Regional District as additionally insured, is required for all moderate and high-risk rentals. For low-risk activities, such as small birthday parties or social gatherings at a picnic shelter, insurance is recommended but not required. During the reservation process, you will be prompted with additional guidance. If you do not have an existing policy, you can purchase coverage online at Instant Risk Coverage.

Facility Rental FAQs
Smoking, including the use of tobacco, vapour devices and marijuana is not permitted anywhere on the property or in the buildings.

We accept cash, cheque, debit, and Visa payments.
Payment is due at the time of reservation. For larger bookings with a more complex scope—such as multiple bookings or seasonal reservations—alternative payment arrangements may be available. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Payment plans may be available for larger contracts or long-term bookings. Please contact us to discuss options and determine what may be available for your reservation.
If a booking is cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy, payments will be refunded to the original method of payment whenever possible. In some circumstances, program managers may issue an account credit instead of a refund to the original payment method. Please contact us if you have questions about your eligibility for a refund or credit.
Policies vary between single session and seasonal bookings. All cancellation or amendment requests must be submitted in writing.
Single Session Use:
- Courts - At least 24 hours' notice.
- All Other Facilities - At least 7 days' notice.
Recurring Facility Use
- 7 days' notice for cancellation or amendment of a single session within a recurring contract.
- 30 days' notice for cancellation of an entire recurring contract.
Refund eligibility may be subject to notice periods and administrative fees. If the required minimum notice is not provided, the full rental fee will be charged.

We recommend booking as soon as possible. Booking lead times, including opening and closing of booking, vary by facility area. Please refer to information regarding the specific facility of interest for details. Some popular spaces may require even more notice due to high demand.
Reservations have priority use. If someone is occupying the space, you may show them your rental contract as proof of reservation.
Yes, washroom facilities are available during all rentals. The specific washrooms facilities will depend on the location and time of your booking. For after-hours rentals, please confirm washroom access with staff in advance.
Panorama Recreation Centre and Greenglade Community Centre
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available. We recommend checking the connection prior to your event to ensure it meets your needs.
North Saanich Middle School, Centennial Park and Central Saanich Cultural Centre
No, Wi-Fi is not available.
Hose bibbs (spigots) are not available.
Water fountains are available at Panorama Recreation Centre and Greenglade Community Centre facilities, along with Centennial Park facilities seasonally.
Some rooms are equipped with sinks.
Food is permitted in most rental spaces.
Using food trucks at your event requires pre-approval.

Alcohol consumption is only permitted with proper approvals and permits, complying with all provincial and municipal regulations with respect to the dispensing and consumption of alcohol. All permits obtained must be displayed prominently at the rental event. Contravention may result in loss or cancellation of current and future bookings.
Pets are welcome at the picnic shelters in Centennial Park, provided they are leashed and under control at all times.
Only certified guide & assistance animals are permitted within indoor facility spaces and the Sport Box. Peninsula Recreation Commission Policy 01-2006
Dependent on the facility space, and within specific spaces at these facilities, yes! If you intend to rent a bouncy castle, please indicate this within your booking request and/or discuss with staff in advance
Please note:
- Only sandbags are allowed for securing equipment — no stakes, due to underground items such as irrigation systems.
- In most cases, particularly outdoor facilities, a generator will be required for power. Electrical outlets are available at the Sport Box and within gymnasiums.
If outdoor playing surfaces are too wet to safely play, please put your safety first and refrain from use.
Outdoor Tennis Courts
- You may move indoors at no extra charge if space is available but, may be bumped by paid indoor bookings. To guarantee indoor access, book and pay for indoor time, then request credit for the outdoor time.
- To cancel outright, without moving indoors, contact for a credit.
Sport Box - Pickleball
- If another, available court is drier than the one you were assigned, please feel welcome to move to it (though, being prepared to vacate should someone with it formally booked arrive).
- If no court is available or you would prefer to cancel outright, contact staff for a credit.
Sport Box - Other Sport Types
- Please contact staff for a credit.
Extreme weather: In circumstances of extreme weather or other environmental conditions that outdoor recreation is not advisable in, same policies as above.
